Famous Scientists Project

Student PowerPoint Presentations

Below are a list of scientists students selected to study on the Internet for this project. Some scientists are listed twice because students from both class 6A and 6B selected the same person. Before creating these presentations, students wrote 3-page research papers. The PowerPoint presentations were highlights from the written reports. Typed information is minimal on these slides. Students' persuasive oral presentations that accompanied the presentations provided the majority of information for the class. Based on the information students received from the oral and PowerPoint presentations, students voted whether each scientist should be in the 6th Grade Hall of Fame or not. Students had to justify their votes one way or the other with two pieces of information about the scientists' contributions.
