I am the newest member of the staff here at
Metcalf. I have a piano performance degree from the University of
Iowa, an education degree from DePaul University, a Masters in Music
Education from Northern Iowa University, and additional studies at the
Berklee College of Music, Vandercook College of Music (Graduate Assistant),
and The University of St. Thomas. I have taught Middle School Band in
4 Iowa public schools with the last one being my hometown of Muscatine,
Iowa. My bands have had the distinction of enormous growth and great
achievements local, district, state and regional. I have been a
church organist and music director for well over 20 years and am the
Music Director (organist, choir(s) director, and instrumental) at GSt. Luke
Union Church. I also substitute taught band,
vocal, and orchestra in the Iowa City Schools, and spent one year doing
school fundraising for QSP/Readers Digest around Champaign, IL.
I have additional interests in computer (as you can tell), radio, sound
reinforcement, alternative healthcare, and have worked as a professional
keyboardist, drummer, and bass player for 24+ years currently working with
the band Mister Sister. I currently have
two kids that meow and purr a lot -

I'm looking forward to meeting everyone here and doing great things together
at Metcalf.
