Now What?

 IMEA info:

  • The IMEA Music festival takes place Saturday Nov.17th ,  from 8am- to approximately 4:15 pm for junior high, 8am-6:15 or so, for high school.
  • All strings rehearse in Cook Hall (“Castle Building”) on the ISU Campus- 3rd floor
  • You may wear casual clothes for early in the day. You will have time to change if you bring a separate outfit for the concert.
  • For the concert, any nice “Sunday” clothes, are acceptable. However, especially by the high school level, most students wear “Concert Black,” although it is not required.
  • Be there by 8am, bring a music stand with your name on it, IMEA music, a pencil, your instrument, and concert clothes- concert shoes too!
  • Bring lunch money to eat in Bone or surrounding restaurants. I will meet up with you and we will go to lunch together. Bring only the money you need. Valuables can not be 100% secure. There will be lots of people everywhere for the event.
  • Invite your family and friends to the concert. There is a small admission fee per person ($2-3.)
  • The junior high concert is at 2:30pm, in Braden Auditorium. .
  • The high school concert is at 4:30 pm. You may stay for both without paying extra.
  • Families may meet up with their student after the concert, in the foyer of Braden. Do not expect to see each other before that time.
  • Continue to practice your music! This is a big responsibility. The success of the festival and your ensemble in particular, rests in each member’s hands. You will enjoy it and get most out of the festival if you are well prepared.
  • You can be really proud of yourself, you have achieved something special! Congratulations.  You have already represented Metcalf well! We count on you to continue to do so.
